Kingdom’s Future Vision 2030 Seeks to Transform KSA to a Global Logistics hub

​​Riyadh Chamber, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, organized a "Logistics Platform Workshop" on Monday, 13 March 2017, at the premises of the Chamber for proffering those programs and strategies transforming the KSA into a global logistics hub to serve the global trade. The workshop was attended by a number of interested officials, exporters, importers and customs clearers. At the opening of the workshop, Engr. Mansour Al-Shathri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Riyadh Chamber, pointed out that this project is one of the Kingdom's Future Vision 2030 and National Transformation Program initiatives. Dr. Rumaih Al- Rumaih, Chairman of the Public Transport Authority, Chairman of the Saudi Railway Organization, confirmed the importance of private sector participation in public transport projects and services, indicating that cooperation between the parties involved will lead to the success of initiatives relating to export and import services. Dr. Nabeel Al-Amudi, President of the Saudi Ports Authority, said that the Authority is working on the restructuring and legislative reform of the ports through regulatory, commercial and operational aspects. On the other hand, Mr. Ahmad Al-Haqbani, Acting Director-General of Saudi Customs, revealed that the latter is proceeding with its plans to support the Kingdom's objectives to become one of the leading logistics hubs by 2020.
