The Chairman of the Board of Riyadh Chamber, Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Obeikan, received the Deputy Minister of Commerce for Business Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Nuwairan, at the Chamber’s headquarters on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
During the meeting, a report on the Chamber’s activities was reviewed, reflecting the scale of institutional momentum and the advancement of its performance, as well as its pivotal role in representing private sector interests and contributing to the formulation of economic policies and regulations. The report also highlighted the Chamber’s efforts to facilitate the ease of doing business and enhance integration with government entities.
Dr. Al-Nuwairan was also briefed on a package of strategic projects and initiatives undertaken by the Chamber, representing a qualitative transformation in its institutional approach. These include the development of its strategy and operating model, the launch of the Center of Excellence and Economic Foresight, the establishment of the Empowerment and Follow-up Office, the Data Management Office, in addition to digital transformation projects.
The presentation highlighted the role of the Center of Excellence and Economic Foresight as a knowledge arm supporting economic decision-making through data-driven insights and analysis. It also underscored the role of the Data Management Office in building an integrated ecosystem that enhances decision-making and supports the transition toward a data- and intelligence-driven economy.
The Chamber further reviewed the role of the Empowerment and Follow-up Office in enhancing the efficiency of business sector representation and strengthening communication with government entities, noting that the office is currently implementing more than 28 joint initiatives with various government bodies.
The meeting also addressed the Chamber’s efforts to advance its digital infrastructure and technical services, as well as to improve the subscriber experience through an integrated services portal.
In addition, the Chamber presented opportunities for cooperation and integration with the Ministry, particularly in the areas of developing commercial regulations, technical integration, supporting small and medium enterprises, and enhancing the business environment. This reflects the strategic partnership between both sides in supporting the national economy, improving the efficiency of the commercial market, and conducting joint studies.
