Signing of a Cooperation Memorandum to Promote Innovation and Technology Transfer

Tuesday 28 April 2026

Riyadh Chamber, represented by the Executive Department of Legal Affairs and Compliance, and King Saud University, represented by the Entrepreneurship Institute, signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening collaboration in the fields of innovation and technology transfer to support economic development. Both parties agreed to leverage their capabilities to facilitate linking the university with the private sector by enhancing communication between innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors, and by supporting opportunities for transferring technology from universities to companies. This, in turn, contributes to creating opportunities for commercial partnerships and investment in intellectual property rights, achieving their shared objectives.

The memorandum was signed by Mr. Nasser bin Othman Abu Humaid, Secretary General of Riyadh Chamber, and Prof. Yazid bin Abdulmalik Al Al-Sheikh, Vice President of King Saud University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. The memorandum includes establishing a strategic partnership to deliver lectures, meetings, and workshops to support engagement with investors, raise awareness of intellectual property asset management among startups and entrepreneurs, and develop both academic and practical programs and sessions for joint events. It also includes inviting relevant entities and private sector establishments to participate and promoting these initiatives through the official channels of both parties.
