The private sector plays a major role in supporting government efforts to achieve advanced level of economic advancement, which aims to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development in Saudi Arabia. However, despite the practical experience, practice expansion and diversification of activities and great expectations and its future course of the modernization requirements, the private sector in the Kingdom, despite its active presence in the process of economic development, its participation in economic policy making is still limited. These limitations are evident in comparing the role of the private sector to the role of official government institutions in the Kingdom. In pursuing to analyze the general economic policy making in Saudi Arabia, and how is it to be made, and the role of the private sector in the process, Researcher Manie bin Saad Al-Khamsi made an academic study entitled: "The role of the private sector in economic policy making in Saudi Arabia in the light of the shift of the role of the State with an applied study of the Council of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.”
