Al Ajlan: The System to Combat Undercover Trade Will Close the Loophole for Lawbreakers

​​The Administration board member and Head of Trade Committee at the Riyadh Chamber, Muhammad Abdulaziz Al Ajlan has cited the arrangements that the Council of Ministers agreed on in the last session presided by His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz the deputy chair of the Council of Ministers and minister of Defense, to help the Ministry of Trade and Industry, to apply a system to combat undercover trade and foreign control on some of business activities. Al Ajlan emphasized that these arrangements that are aimed at supporting the ministry of Trade and Industry, in terms of manpower and materially to enable it to apply a system of combating clandestine business in a required manner. The system will contribute in closing loopholes that law breakers use while colluding with some citizens, regrettably, in exchange for some small funds, while the foreigner reaps the maximum profit and that leads to destabilization of the market and trade. Al Ajlan pointed out that the issue of undercover trade has been the preoccupation of Riyadh Chamber for a longer time now, represented by the Trade Committee. It has always called for the need to work to find a practical solution to the issue, with emphasis on the importance of solidarity between the various government agencies, the private sector and the community at large to correct this problem and tackle adverse effects and the consequent loss of many of the rights of the society, the economy and the citizens. He stressed that the Trade Committee at the Chamber of Commerce will fully support the efforts of the Ministry of Trade in the strict application of the system to combat the undercover business. He said that the issue needs more awareness among citizens, and the need to eliminate the sources of the undercover trade, warning that the community should know that undercover business is a problem that will primarily affect the society and that fighting it will serve the benefit to the society and the national economy. He also noted that its application is not only limited to commercial activities but also includes of all economic, professional, and artwork activities.
