Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and
Food Supply Calls on Saudi Business Owners to Invest in Brazil
Riyadh Chamber hosted a meeting between HE Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, Mr. Blairo Borges Maggi, and Engr. Mansour Al-Shathri, Deputy-Chairman of Riyadh Chamber, in the presence of a number of businesspersons from both sides. The visiting minister said that the Brazilian meat issue is merely speculative, and that some countries banned few Brazilian meat items just as a precaution. Engr. Al-Shathri confirmed on the competitiveness of the meat market worldwide, pointing out that the Kingdom has concluded many agreements to support its food security. The CEO of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Michael Alabi, invited Saudi businesspersons to visit Brazil. Saudi businessmen expressed their desire to import Brazilian cows and sheep after the ban is lifted, export dates, establish a joint Saudi-Brazilian business council and a Brazilian economic representative office in the Kingdom to boost exports. HE Brazilian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Flavio Mariga, participated in the discussions and agreed to establish a representative office within the Brazilian Embassy in the Kingdom. Engr. Al-Shathri confirmed that the Chamber will prepare for the visit to Brazil with a delegation of businesspersons in response to the invitation of the CEO of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
